  • Essay Writing 101: Analytic Essay

The gateway to the world of essays. Your student will interpret source material, organize ideas, and develop a complete analytic essay through drafting, revising, and editing. With an emphasis on critical thinking and personal voice, this class builds a strong foundation for high school and college-level writing.

  • Essay Writing 102: Persuasive Essay

Craft compelling persuasive essays that stand up in academic settings. Students delve into topic exploration, thesis development, research and source evaluation, structure planning, and MLA-style paraphrasing and citation before drafting, revising, and polishing their final work. 

  • Essay Writing 201: Critical Response Essay

With an emphasis on original voice, nuanced reasoning, and thoughtful reflection, this class builds transferable skills for history, science, advocacy, and beyond. Students will engage deeply with texts, images, and current events—learning to analyze not just what’s written but how and why it was crafted. 

  • Essay Writing 202: Timed Essay

In the age of AI, this class is a must-have. Prepare your teen for on-the-spot writing situations, whether it’s classroom assignments, AP tests, or college entrance essays. We teach strategies to quickly decode complex prompts, craft coherent thesis statements, and write and revise concise essays within tight time constraints. 

  • Essay Writing 301:  Advanced Composition 

Even within topics our students adore, they will encounter texts that require interpretation and analysis. This class invites them to sharpen their skills in identifying rhetorical devices, generating original insights, and crafting a polished textual analysis essay using structured feedback and revision. An ideal college-prep bridge. 

  • Essay Writing 302: Current Events Essay (available in 26-27 school year)

This course dives into the world of the op ed—research-based opinion writing about current events. Students investigate current events of interest and write a persuasive essay calling for action.
