New for Fall 2025!

Does your child love role-playing games and epic adventures?

Need to infuse your homeschool with fresh, new energy?

Turn your kids' passion for gaming into powerful writing skills with Gamers Write!

Class Overview

Made With You in Mind

Tabletop roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons, Monster of the Week, and Warhammer involve hours of character building, collaborative storytelling, and imaginative freedom. Kids love TTRPGs because they don't just watch stories—they live them. We take that same thrilling energy and use it to build writing skills in this one-of-a-kind class!

Gamers Write! is designed for middlers who want to craft characters, weave stories, and play out spine-tingling adventures, all while building writing confidence.

Participants will use our custom world-system to craft complex characters (complete with backstories) and engage in gamelike scenarios. While kids won't complete an actual campaign, they will use their writing skills to engage with our unique world in fascinating ways. This is the perfect writing class for the passionate gamer!

Highlights include

  • Interactive Storytelling: Write as your own custom character in an epic, monster-hunting adventure
  • Dice-Driven Drama: Learn how rolling dice can change the story—just like in your favorite role-playing games
  • Creative Writing: Develop character backstories, describe action scenes, and team up with other young writers
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Think on your feet, investigating mysteries and making choices

The only equipment needed to play (and write) is a pair of six-sided dice. We'll provide the rest!

The Best Part: This class is repeatable. While the game structure remains the same, the dynamic of new participants (and their varying characters) makes for fresh gameplay each time!

Spots are limited in this popular class. Register early to save your spot in the creative adventure. Gamers, write!

Our roleplaying system has fantasy elements such as magic, fantastical creatures, monsters, weapons, and perilous action.

Some activities in class include use of a private Padlet board.

Week by Week

Week One

Gamers use our custom world-system to build their characters and uncover their backstory. Writers will connect with other participants to develop their shared history.

Week Two

This week, participants will use dice to determine their character's success investigating a mysterious situation. Characters work together as they use their wits to solve a puzzle.

Week Three

It's time for epic teamwork and combat. Participants develop their characters' special moves and team up with other players to tackle new challenges.

Week Four

In the final week, gamers will reflect on how their character has evolved and how they might level up next. Using the world-system and the knowledge gained in class, they'll craft the next adventure.

Word on the Street

It's about learning and getting better at writing while still having a lot of fun and oh- there's a Lot of character creating and developing but I like to do that so it doesn't bother me at all.

Meghan, 13

I would say this class grew my creative writing (I wonder why) and my lucrative speech.

Isaac, 15

This class needs to be longer I loved this class so much I might sign up for it again.

Alia, 12

This class throws off all the pressure of having perfect spelling and punctuation and it makes you think outside the box where you can express yourself freely.

Ella, 12
