Julie Bogart

Julie Bogart

Chief Enchantment Officer

Julie Bogart, head of all things Brave Writer, can be often spotted with a cup of British tea in one hand and a book of poetry in the other. Cindy Clark

Cindy Clark

Oculus of Operations

Our Oculus of Operations, Cindy Clark is in charge of the administrative tasks that help Brave Writer run smoothly. Ask her to send instructions to access an Arrow subscription, coordinate and schedule online classes, or oversee a charter school purchase order and she’s on it. After homeschooling her four now-adult children, she can say with pride that the Grand Experiment was a success. Her kids are awesome adults who know how to teach themselves whatever they want to learn. Cindy loves gardens, reading, entertaining, and the joy of discovering something new. In 2013, when she began working full time for Brave Writer, she worried there might not be enough to do. She was wrong.

Jeannette Hall

Jeannette Hall

Marketing and Social Media Fairy

Frequent wearer of hats, regular watcher of Audrey Hepburn movies, and intermittent eater of white chocolate truffles, Jeannette Hall is Brave Writer’s Marketing and Social Media Fairy. She is both mom and friend to her four grown kids, all homeschooled. Home education led her into her chief passion as an adult: the arts! Music, film, dance, theatre, art, literature. Jeannette loves them all. She also enjoys her marketing and social media responsibilities for Brave Writer, especially since a cherished motto of hers is: “Home is where the Internet is.” She works in her pajamas most days.

Kirsten Merryman

Kirsten Merryman

Conjurer of Classes

Kirsten Merryman—language lover, avocado aficionado, and trippy traveler—is nothing if not alliterative. Brave Writer's Conjurer of Classes has been a teacher all her adult life, but she really learned how when she started homeschooling her two kids over a decade ago. Her son's motto as a toddler was "Me do it!" and she's been following her kids' lead ever since. When she's not facilitating online classes, you can find her watching musicals and Shakespeare plays with her daughter. Kirsten's background is in foreign language education. She speaks French and some Spanish and her husband would love her to learn Norwegian so they could emigrate to his favorite place.
