I graduated from Samford (Sam, not Stan!) University in Birmingham, Alabama, with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Said degree has come in quite handy since my husband Guy and myself welcomed six children into our lives in the first 10 years together. With toddlers and teens around, there’s no shortage of activity—or noise!—in my little yellow house.
I implemented the Brave Writer Lifestyle in Hensley Hall several years ago. The results were staggering. And so was the Love Affair. By simply practicing the Brave Writer Values on my own children, the Love grew into a full-blown Language Arts Liberation. I eagerly shared this shiny, new-found treasure with co-op classes I created across the elementary, middle and high school spectrum. I have spent the last five years leading a homeschool support group with monthly meetings tackling a laundry list of topics near-and-dear to the mama’s heart, while gently nudging their growth in self confidence and community. Understanding the Homeschool Mama and the trench from which I do my Language Arts battle is my mission—because math isn’t! Drawing on a decade of homeschool experience and an insatiable appetite for “just the right word,” I'm ready for our online classes.
