I graduated from Samford (Sam, not Stan!) University in Birmingham, Alabama, with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Said degree came in quite handy since welcoming six children into my life over the span of a decade. With Littles, Middles, and Bigs around, there’s no shortage of activity—or noise!—in my little white house.
I implemented the Brave Writer Lifestyle in our home education several years ago. The results were staggering. And so was the Love Affair. By simply practicing the Brave Writer Values on my own children, the Love grew into a full-blown Language Arts Liberation. I eagerly shared this shiny, new-found treasure with co-op classes I created across the elementary, middle, and high school spectrum.
I also formed and led a homeschool support group for many years. My little band of pioneers blossomed from 7 interested attendants to nearly 200 members! I coordinated monthly meetings that tackled a laundry list of topics near-and-dear to the parent's heart, while gently nudging growth in self confidence and community. Our time each month swung wide the door of relationship, allowing me to come alongside folks committed to a positive impact upon the hearts and minds in their everyday lives.
Understanding the Homeschool Parent and the trench from which the Language Arts battle is waged is my mission—because math isn’t! Drawing on over a decade of homeschool experience and an insatiable appetite for “just the right word,” I'm eager to partner with you for this leg of your journey!
