"I'd rather be reading." This single phrase sums up my life starting from the age of 4. I have always loved the power of words to transport us into other worlds and connect us to people, places, and experiences we would not otherwise encounter. Since early childhood, I could always be found curled up in a corner somewhere with a book in hand. My love for reading continues to this day, and is now matched only by my love for writing. As soon as I learned to write, I began pouring myself into journals, poetry contests, letters, fiction writing, research papers, and more. I was fortunate to be homeschooled from 1st-9th grade, which allowed me plenty of time to pursue this passion.

After completing my undergraduate studies I began teaching high school English in Southern California. I desired to share my love of reading and writing with my students, and I treasure those years in public education. While I never planned to homeschool my own children, after a ten year stint in vocational ministry the opportunity presented itself and our family jumped in with both feet. We have been homeschooling our three kids since 2017 and wouldn't trade the experience for anything. It has afforded us the chance to travel throughout the United States, Africa, and Europe while continuing to explore the power and beauty of words.

We currently live in Northern California where I work from home as a Leadership Instructor and Writing Coach while continuing to homeschool our kids. I still read every chance I get, and am in the process of writing my first book. When my nose isn't buried in a book, I can be found hosting neighborhood events, hiking, cooking, exploring wine country, and daydreaming about where our next travels will take us.

I look forward to sharing my love of words with you and your children, and journeying with you as they share their own stories.
