When I was a kid, I wanted nothing more than to become a writer. I envisioned myself in a cozy, private nook in a stone cottage outside Manhattan, where I’d work beneath a window overlooking an English garden. Here, I’d carefully labor over each word of my soon-to-be-released best selling children’s picture book.

We own a hobby farm in South Dakota, tend a vineyard alongside our chicken coop, duck pool, and greenhouse, and every private nook available is littered with LEGOs. While I have never written a children’s book, I was thrilled to promote one of my four non-fiction books on The Today Show next to Al Roker! I’ve also enjoyed hosting a popular radio program focused on trends in publishing and authored numerous articles in national parenting magazines.

As a former middle school English teacher and children’s librarian turned homeschooling mom, my professional and personal experiences have informed my approach to coaching writers: it’s all about relationship. I seek to meet writers where they are and help move them forward using encouragement and support.

A lot has changed since my own middle school days in New York, where I curled up in the company of The Outsiders, but my love for the written word stays golden. I am blessed to call writing my passion, my purpose, and my profession. I am at home as a Brave Writer.
